About Us
Cafe Refuge is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a heartfelt sanctuary rooted in a powerful story of resilience and hope. Our name honors Noi’s journey as a war refugee from Lao. His father, a fighter pilot, fought alongside the American CIA during the “Secret War” in Lao before being captured and imprisoned. After a daring escape, Noi’s family left everything behind in their beloved homeland to start a new life in America.
At Cafe Refuge, we celebrate the spirit of giving back to those in need. Our logo, featuring our beloved rescued kitties, symbolizes our commitment to compassion and our deep love for all living beings.

Humble Beginnings
We’re passionate about what we do—and we believe that passion is meant to be shared. That’s why we jumped at every chance to be part of local events, no matter the size. Heck, we once did a pop-up at an elementary school where we barely sold anything, but the joy of connecting with people made it all worth it.
Truthfully, we faced a lot of rejection—many organizers turned us away simply because we were a coffee cart. It was discouraging at times, but our love for what we do and our belief in our product kept us going. Every opportunity, big or small, meant something to us. Each one was a chance to show up, serve great coffee, and be part of the community we care so deeply about.
